Some images from today

[Somelier]

Still very cold up in the Derbyshire hills. The pavements are like skating rinks and all the vegetation has a coating of ice, but the sun was shining today and the ice looked fantastic.

HDR image from 3 originals at 2 stop intervals

Straight image. Canon 5DMkll plus Tamron 90mm Macro around 1:1.

Another straight image, same as above, but with 25mm extension tube giving slightly more than 1:1.

3 image HDR, but done with "painterly" effect. The previous image was the middle of the 3.

This wall is just outside our front door. It's sheathed in ice, looks spectacular.

A couple more from today, taken with my 500mm Sigma APO telephoto on my Canon 7D

About 1.5 km from my back garden.

Ice still covers the tops of the trees in the wood opposite my house.

Nice photographs - thanks for sharing.

I also use a 500mm Sigma APO telephoto (Nice lens) but on a old NIKON D70 & D70S and like me its getting past it but still keeps me happy.
