Thought |I'd risk a poem

Van Life
Your camper, your wheelhouse
free to roll and rock up anywhere
you choose by accident or design.
Some say there's no better way to go

or stop,
as you do at the track end.
The sand dunes' summit
reveals a golden expanse
devoid of human footprint.
The call of a lone sandpiper
and the faint applause
of the distant sea
the only sounds.

Longed-for sun and caressing breeze
unwind your body. Time, no longer short
makes room for a neglected book,
and a guilt free snooze.

Day tripper tides flood in ... and leave.
A peace descends, evening gathers
silently you prepare a meal, make up your bed,
knowing that tomorrow
you can have it all again
