Solar panel/split charge wiring..

Ok, I have currently a 100w panel connected to my 95amp leisure battery via a single 10 amp controller.
My lesiure battery is also connected to the start battery via a Durite relay like the one pictured.http://www.thetoolboxshop.com/user/products/0-727-33-12v-durite-voltage-sensitive-relay-for-charge-splitting-8096-p.jpg

Would I be better off connecting the panel to the start battery and let the relay charge the leisure battery once the start is full, or is how I already have it set up, best?

Hope you can all follow that!
Thanks

Rich

IMO the way you have it now, thT is the way I set mine up

I too have my 80 watt solar panel though a 30amp control panel to my 110amp lesure battery an i have run a full 9 nights away from any power .

i only run my compresser fridge an water pump of the lesure battery but i was very impressed that the solar system kept my battery at 12.5~14 volts all week.

I think this is the best way to run the system solar panel charging the lesure battery and alternator charging engine starter battery.

I have this set up which has a auto select battery charge so you can determine which batt you want as priority then it will pick up the second.I will take 16 amps which is about 200w.

Most of you have more roof space for the solar panels. My 80 watt panel sits on the sloping bit above the front seats of my land rover series 2 but it does the job .
