Solar Panel Change Contoller Box ..... Arggggghhhhh!

Last night we blew a lighting fuse. Trying to find the right one in the dark my husband accidentally took out the one for the solar panel charge controller box. He put it back in, but now the box insists our leisure battery has completely discharged (not true... it was on 77% before he took the fuse out) and now the electrics don't work properly!!!
Oh woe. We put the fuse back in of course, but there seems to be no reset function on the controller???
Any ideas on this one?

I had a similar problem with my van recently, I had to replace my leisure batteries and once I connected up the solar panel control box there was nothing happening it showed as being dead.
I simply disconnected one of the wires from the box to the solar panel, and kept it disconnected for at least 1 minute. I then reconnected it and it automatically reset itself.
Now I do not know if this is the case for all solar control boxes, but I know it worked for me.

Good Luck with it :)

Leave it out !!!

Take the fuse out for an hour or so to let the controller reset itself.
Worth a try.

Great minds

Same plan different timings. One may work.At least its easy to try.

Can confirm - had similar problem with mine and removing the fuse for a few minutes and replacing it worked - good luck and happy travels

Just check the fuse didn't blow when you reinserted it, I have seen it happen. If its okay the trick of disconnecting for a few minutes often works.

On my controller it has an order of how you connect. From memory you had to connect the battery first & then the solar panel.
I was doing some work myself & I disconnected the battery, when I connected it back up the meter on the controller was saying the battery was flat  I looked at the manual for the controller which gave the sequence for connecting.

Don't know if this helps... but in our truck, if you disconnect the leisure batteries then when reconnected the control panel has "?" symbol and the amps left are incorrect and the 'EHU' logo comes on.

Once it's been plugged into EHU it sorts itself out again.

Ours is an Adria Vision with Shaudt Electrobloc & control panel.

i use an expensive one from morocco 10 quid. do what you like to it connect as and when .its not very tecnical and tells me nothing.

Thanks Everyone!

The fuse didn't work, so after I took that out I disconnected thge leisure battery as well, that seemed to fix it!

I reckon my control box is a tad random though. It told me my battery was at 63% then 95% the next day, after a 5minute drive (and hardly any sunlight). I think this control system is rather suspicious!
