Advice sought please.

Will there there be any negative effects using a 40A charge controller with a 160 watt solar panel and 2x lead acid batteries? I know a 20A will do but I have been offered a Victron 40A @ half price.

TIA.

Even better? it's a 45A.
Well, it will be a nice controller :)

two comments though ....
It may be half price, but it would still be around £80 or so more than a Victron 20A Controller (a fair price more to pay for capability you don't really need?)
If comparing the Victron controllers by the pictures of them, bear in mind they all tend to look the same but the higher the rating of the controller, the larger they are physically (could be a factor if your chosen location is limited in space? A 20A controller may fit in but a seemingly identical 30A controller could be too large?)

Hadn't thought about the size, so thanks for that.
