So who were 'The Enemy' and what was that all about lol....or is that a topic not be discussed on this forum at the risk of sudden and painful banishment :wacko:

By any chance it wouldn't be the Funsters would it... motorhomefun.co.uk I saw this site a while back but this one looked better organised and more user friendly so I joined here instead....mmm...curiousity in high level mode now lol..

No worries lol...I'm bound to run into someone who knows (or one of THE ENEMY) at at later date so I'll wait till then.....don't quite understand why there is a worry of repercussions and hassle....surely we're all grown up enough to make our own decisions and opinions...and if there is a hassle I'd rather know about it so as not to put the proverbial foot in it somewhere and actually offend someone...as some are very very easily offended lol.
 
Don't worry Viktor, if nobody tells us we'll just invent our own stories and pm them to each other!! :idea:

let sleeping dogs lie, this is now a lovely forum with one or two exceptions but its moderated well and 99% of peeps are really friendly and helpful, surley thats all that matters now innit?
 
Agreed...but a least I and others won't be taken unawares at a meet somewhere as we now know there's an issue between some members and former members on here....so the question then has to be asked....was the turn up of the disgruntled former members deliberate or coincidental at Ribblehead, and if deliberate should we expect this to raise its head again at another meeting?

I couldn't care less really what the issue is over...or how serious it was....we're all adults here and whatever happens happens...it's really none of my business (apart from being a nosey bugger as I've already admitted)...frankly my priorities are mine as I'm sure yours are yours....I'm just here for the fun of wildcamping and don't intend to fall out with anyone over anything...members, ex-members whatever...I just don't like the surprise of finding out something was amiss the way whitevanwoman did and at least I'll expect it coming.

I'd imagine most of our members probably share the same really couldn't care less attitude.
 
I'm on both forums and I knew some people were going to Ribblehead from the other forum and I mentioned it as a possible place to go for new year in Jool's Xmas meet up thread. Ribblehead is a popular New Year destination for campers and walkers of all persuasions. That was the origin of the new year meet. So there is no big deal or hidden agenda.

Go to the meets, chat to the actual people, and you'll form you own opinions.

I have been on meets with them in the past and I hope they will still be friendly. Just because I do not post on their forum does not mean that anything has changed between us.

I met up with one particular member (with a wicked sense of humour) in the Summer. If any of their meets matched up to our plans, I would be happy to attend and see them all again. The main problem is that there are always a lot of sheep where they meet and my 4 silent killers would get us into trouble unless constantly on the lead. :scared:
