Heavy snow in Flanders this morning (wednesday). Unexpected ? = no road clearing. Result: complete traffic stand-still around Antwerp. Lorries blocking the roads and tunnel slopes. Motorways blocked : north > south and east > west

So its not just in this country that government cant get anything right. I suppose we will get it today and still they will say "we didnt expect that.":D:D

but now, there is another advantage to full timing, just pull over at the side of the road and go to sleep!

Hi,
We had only nearly 1000 (thousand) km of queu this morning, all the region Antwerp -Brussels- Ghent, not bad for 900 km motorway.
All the tunnels were choked. A complete standstill till noon.
Antwerp city doesn't have any salt anymore. Only the trams were making it somewhat. Complete dissaster; and now it's snowing again. No way to make it to Diksmuide; I'll be glad if I could get out of my own street :(
Global warming ?????

hi leo
i think that moving antwerpen to norway might be the only answer
even my backstreet way through the city is becoming a nightmare( last trip the kenedy was at a stand still for an hour and a half)
any ideas on through routes to amsterdam would not only help me but may also help your government

Really I cannot help you;
This is the 3rd world at his worst I'm afraid
Oh yes, get me out of here, please ...:p
No salt anymore (only for the motorways) complete shamble, and Wednesday a lot of ice ! The roads have moon-craters
No way... litterally

hot

Gee,after reading these posts I am starting to appreciate the hot weather here and the wide open spaces that we enjoy. If anyone feels like it make an enquiry with the Australian embassy as we are looking for migrants. Probably in 100 years we may have the same clogged up situation that you have. The big cities here have the same problem that all big cities have (Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane) but the rest of us have no such traffic problems. Of course calamities with snow are unheard of as ours are mainly bushfire problems.

Hope this is works for you.

Hi backlegged horse,
Fitzi finally sorted it all out: got a PM from him and send him this answer to his personnal @:
It was a bit stormy this afternoon over here (nothing alarming, only very wet); now it's easying. Not big dammage. It seems the eye of the storm made a bow from the Vendée, over Brittanny, Picardie, over the Ardennes towards Germany (Aachen).
I guess no abnormal problems nor in Flanders (we have relatives in Veurne: nothing happened overthere) nor in Burgundy. Nothing to fear of I think.

Keep it wi(n)lding,;)
Leo
