Noticed that a few of you seem to have a lot of faith in the small claims court to recover moneys.
Just to put things in perspective for those that have never used this system. We have put many claims through the SCC over the last 10 years due to running courier vans, which we no longer do, The courier business is famous for bad payers. We still have £6000 outstanding, which we will never recover, the bailiffs report usually says "we cant recover any goods of value, and all equipment and any vans, cars are leased so have prior claims against them"
You cant get blood out of a stone!!!!!!!!
E-Bay is a different story, we buy around £9000 of stock per year via E-Bay, and have around 10 (goods not arrived )or (goods not as described) disputes per year and having 100% feed back ourselves have won them all.
The only thing to watch on E-Bay is the seller trying to delay your complaint till the time limit for complaining has run out, we nowadays send 1 message with our complaint asking for it rectifying and if the responce is not within 24hours and not offering a solution, then the complaint goes in.
The modern way seems to be screw who you can and do anything to get away with it.
Its not my way of working, but I feel I am in a minority these days
