Im interested in the pro's & cons having to rotate your driving chairs to provide the appropriate length for single beds. Do you end up continually adjusting the height & other adjustments. Does this provide a natural position to sleep with your legs straight etc .

Thank you for feedback

In the past when the 'girls' are resident in the rear bed I've had to use the front bed which is made including swivelling the front seat. Ours is designed so your feet go on seat, so it all boils down to how combatable the rest of the bed is, and on ours it's not very. If I had to do it again would use a topper which I think would sort it, as for length, that depends on how the van is designed, if it's purpose designed to take adults then they should be a minimum of 6foot long, ours is for a large child/small adult and to fit I had to slide seat forward and leave a small gap under lower leg, but this wasn't really noticeable.

My VW T4 has 2 single beds formed by turning the front seats and dropping the backs of the two single rear seats having first swung the sitting part through 180 degrees to fill the space between the turned front seats. We don't need to make any adjustment other than ensure the rear seats are folded relatively flat. The beds are reasonably comfortable by the second night! The comfort could probably be greatly improved with a memory foam mattress but they are bulky for a small van when not in use. My van is a long wheel base model, one of the beds would accommodate a 7 foot tall person easily the other probably a 6 foot person but there wouldn't be much room to spare. I'm 5'10 and its OK for me.

Edit. The shorter bed would be the same if my van was a short wheel base VW its only the longer one that takes advantage of the van being a LWB.

We have to use the turned front seats in our van . if you can raise the seat to the correct hight 0r or make an infill it will be fine . We have the added comfort of a duvalay and find our set up very good ..

We can sleep 2 upstairs if needed but rear bed is easy to set-up and no need for front seats. It also still leaves gap large enough for our labrador to sleep in front of fridge. No shortage of space :)

Jim that looks neat and tidy and well organised :)

Thank you - we do run a tidy ship. Neither of us have ever been untidy as I used to walk and camp in the highlands and you need everything in it's place when you do that!! Would you even know a 3 year old bouncy lab goes with us! We have it down to a fine art and IIRC we can be packed up and off a site within 30 mins or less. While wife sorts out bags I quickly shake sleeping bag, fold bed away and turn passenger seat round. Then while she sorts what we need for the day I unhook electric, switch fridge over to 12V, pull roof down and we're gone - perfect for the odd 'Wild' night out! My son did some photos ready for when we sell which really show it off. I've been offered more for it than I paid but not quite ready to get a California just yet.
