simple language translator

Babel

Have a laugh :)
Translate "ommelette aux fines herbes" from French into Dutch and then from Dutch into English. I would not like that on my plate. :D:D

Hi Belgian, you are either a master of languages or have far to much time on your hands.

I lashed out on a "ten talks" translator last year - the Koreans need to use their own translator to have a "ten languages" translator.

It had some interesting sentences in the "human relations" section - "I want to be your slave" and "Do you want to be my slave?" would be really useful whilst having a chat with an irate traffic cop in the middle of Spain!!!

As for Babelfish, it worked far better in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy than it does on the internet, but having a fish stuck in your ear is not a good look either!!

less Babel more fish

Hi Allan & Sue,
I knew this site for years. It's just fun how it translates 'litterary'.:D Just give me the old dictionary when I miss a word. Babel-fish may help but it is the 'fish' which makes me grinn :D. I prefer and ommelette aux fines herbes in France more than one with fine grass in Britain
Maybe as belgian I'm a little previlaged with languages. It will not allways sound like a bell, but I try to manage.
Keep laughing guys !

I just got the following:

As you say, I would be very disappointed if that turned up my plate :D

Babelfish has been around for a long time. Don't trust it too much because some of its translations could provoke an international incident
