Side repeater = MOT?

Hi folks, hope you're all well.

I've finally got my old Beddy ready for an MOT, and i'm stuck on what should have been the easiest of jobs. The bulb has gone in the offside side repeater, and i'm having a hell of a time trying to get the lens off to change it. The screw is held in with 30 odd years of rust, plus the head is rounded off. I've just destroyed 3 drill bits trying to drill the bugger out.

Does anyone know if side repeaters are an MOT fail point? Main indicators are working fine.

Thought that might be the case. Oh well, looks like i need to invest in some of them screw extraction widgets.

Thanks Arthur.

A lot of electronics stores sell specialist drill bits to remove Phillips head style screws. Best investment if you have rusted screws - you need a reversible drill - standard drill direction will just tighten the screw as you try to drill it out.

Just a small amount of heat can help crack the bond - I've used a small gas soldering flame.
