showering when wildcamping.

for those that hav'nt got a shower fitted in their van, and need a shower when wild camping. when we had an old vw we bought a toilet tent, emptied the cool box which we filled with warm water then connected a 12v whale water pump to a shower head by a flexible pipe and connected a switch in line to the cigar lighter sink the pump then switch on wet yourself switch off soap up switch it back on to rinse off, just put some plastic on the floor of you will soon be standing in mud, with the old van we never used sites getting the water from streams to wash ourselves great days.

The base for our shower is a paddling pool!
Fill a bowl with hot water,pipe with a shower head and a whale pump. No problems!!

Whale pumps are expensive, shower from Maplins and Ebay £9.99, comes complete with showerhead, 12v or 2 C batts, designed to use hot & cold water!

There is also a kit with a solar shower and a plastic curtain that be fixed on any tree for around a tenner!

Just depends on how basic you want it!

We used one on a job with 11 men using it every morning , not together of course for several months plus a few long trips on canal boat and wilding. Gave up the ghost after five years of hard use, replaced it with a new one this year!

200331973628 solar shower £3.99, I used one a few years ago on my boats they do work well.

There is a version of the solar shower with curtain surround made by 'Blackspur' a cheap manufacturer that supplies camping shops all over the country but I have seen them on ebay. I can tell you where to find them in Portsmouth otherwise keep looking on ebay or shop around, they are about!

if you don't want to waste power get a 5l pump up garden sprayer fill with warter pump up hang up spray head elastic band on trigger and sorted.
