If I knew the answer to that one my name would be George Soros, not John H :juggle:
Personally, I don't think the exchange rate is likely to move too far against us - probably stay the same or get slightly better, so I would take my chances and wait - but then again, my name isn't Soros! You might decide that the rate is quite good at present and go for the certainty of the present. Whatever, it will be cheaper to go to the Eurozone this year than it was last - which is good news because we're off to Spain for the winter :)

Yes, all good news at the moment.:ditto:

Of course, we all have the option to hedge our bets a bit - buy some now and some before leaving. As John says if any of us knew where the rate was going we may be in a slightly different financial situation.........

Hi,

As john said it's not easy second guessing the Currency markets! Will Greece leave the Euro? Will this make Sterling stronger?

There are just as many Experts saying the Pound will get stronger in Q3 / Q4 of this year as there are saying the opposite.

You could always edge your bets and buy some now.

I think I will just wait till August

Cheers
Matthew

The workings of the financial markets are a bit of a mystery to me but if Spain does go back to pesetas then surely that would be even better for the tourist because pesetas would be worth even less than the euro?

thanks every one, i think i will mix it up a bit and buy some now and some later, after all last year when i went it was 1 for 1 (nearly) and it will make this years trip a bit cheaper,
