Just passed Shieldaig camping area and it’s a hive of activity. It appears there will be designated pitches etc which are in the process of being dug out and levelled. Not sure what else is planned, toilets ehu may be on the cards.
I will check again when I’m back up next month.
As a footnote just parked up on Toscaig pier for a night or 2. To be honest I’m a bit concerned as it’s covered in seaweed and the wind is blowing a gale. I may have to make a quick getaway if things get drastic lol ! Looking at the weather forecast for Applecross the wind is reducing from 6.00pm and high tide is 1.30am so fingers crossed I will be ok.

Good news about shieldag it used to get a bit boggy. Enjoy Toscaig you might find your breakfast washed up on the carpark in the morning. 👍

Thanks for that info.

We like Shieldaig and the restaurant in the hotel.

It is a pity the campsite has not got a better view. We found alternative parking with a good view.

Pobably not be back there for a while as the Bergen-Newcastle ferry has stopped. We live in Poland.

Apparently this site/campsite is £22 per night .

Interesting to see what facilities you get for that price. If they have showers etc ok for a couple or family but as I travel on my lonesome most of the time I won’t be using it at that price.

More canny Scots cashing in on the NC500👍🥃

Friend travelling up there just now , on his own . His text stated £22 for one person . I'll.found out more when he gets back .
Stayed in Shieldaig earlier this year before this site was open and parked in lay-by on street . I wouldn't be paying £22 , I'd just go elsewhere
