Hi try b&q piano hinges they come in different sizes.

B&Q, Homebase and in £ shops too. They come in packets of two. Shouldn't cost more than 75p to a £1. I have seen them in brass and steel. They come in several sizes.

I think meldorado means the type that Explorer group motorhomes use. There is a spring loaded catch that supports the shelf when it is raised.

Personally, I would try an Elddis or Compass dealer.

folding shelf hinges

thanks for the help but i have found some perfect for the job at Timothy wood ironmongers, part number 287.40.105 Hafele f/shelf Brkt 210x200, i needed them to make a fold away extension to the draining board which our van was short of.
