Well, after a long wait for parts and finding solutions for problems we didn’t envisage at the start, we have finally picked up our new motorhome! She’s a Swift Escape 664 fully converted by Coachbuilt GB in Nuneaton for my disabled wife with wheelchair lift, hoist, wet room and 6 way front seat. After over 18 months of isolation we are finally meeting our family for a few days next week in Somerset so I’m busy packing up the van and preparing her for the trip. Excited but apprehensive at our maiden voyage despite having motorhomed in the past, it’s different when it’s your own! I’m hoping for no technical issues and just to enjoy getting out and about again. Pictures will follow when I’ve got the time, she is an amazing vehicle with an unbelievable amount of interior space at only 6.7 metres long, but losing nothing from inside. And just as a footnote, we’ve had no problems booking sites in Somerset, I actually held 4 different adjacent pitches open at one point for 2 vehicles until we could agree where everyone could meet, all extremely helpful, only 2 weeks before the trip. Busy hotspots don’t appeal anyway and we have the freedom to visit them anyway without staying nearby, the travelling is part of the fun! I’ll post more when we’re settled! Wish me luck!
