While standing in the queue in Tesco’s this morning idly wondering how a company that has made 53squillion profit in the past six months still cannot afford to open more than 2 of the 20 checkouts available I was joined by a lady that I vaguely knew.
After passing the time of day she suddenly started grinning and said “can I tell you something?” of course say’s I in my most confiding voice. Well she say’s today we finally pay off our mortgage and I am so excited. Well done say’s I, make sure you go out and have a little celebration. We are going out for a meal tonight, I am so happy she said, still grinning.
Just a small thing, but it cheered me up no end.

I think the word "serendipity" is a lovely word, one of those words which sounds like what it means (onamatapeioa - scuse the spelling if it's wrong) - just the word makes me feel happy and slightly dippy!

Did you suggest that they now invest in a MH and go off and see the world? If not, why not?!! ;)

Seeing someone else's pleasure is sometimes as good as experiencing pleasure yourself.

But I know what you mean about Tesco's, and all other big supermarkets, it drives me mad, and I refuse out of principle to use the self-service tills as the more they are used, the more excuse these supermarkets will have for reducing staff and jobs.
