We arrived at the Calais ferry port on Monday 28th Feb and parked up in our van near the ticket offices ,it is still OK to overnight here although they have revamped the entrances and exits to the parking area . I went to the Sea France office to enquire about a ticket for Dover as we went over on a one way ticket,I was quoted prices varying from 80 euros to 140 euros ,I could not get Internet connection to try on there,so decided to phone the C C C of which I am a member, they quoted me £43 for a crossing next day at 11-10am which I duly accepted, 5 minutes after getting off the phone I went back to the ticket office and quoted the reference number I had been given and in that short time I was on Sea Frances Computer, brilliant, the Clerk in the office could not believe that my ticket had been so cheap, he said it was impossible for him to match it, so there you are, once again membership of the CCC has paid off, we had a good quiet night on the ferry car park, well lit and CCTV cameras for security, this was confirmed by the clerk in the ticket office.I decided to switch my lap top on whilst there and found a WI FI connection I could have used by getting a subscription but I didn't bother.:D:D:D

I always book through "ferries.co.uk" over the Internet, as it is more than half the price if you book directly at the Ferry Port.

Hi all,

Got mine for £49.00 each way departing on 26th July via C&CC, best I could find on line £90.00 for date and time. I was a bit surprised that it did not matter much what time I travelled.

Anybody else heading down the west coast of France about that time?

Richard

We always use Eurotunnel Frequent Traveller Account which works out at £48 per journey £96 return and you only have to book the day before you want to travel ,and then book your return journey when you are ready to return back to the UK it could not be more flexible , we have done this for the last 3 years.

Yes

Hi *****,

Do Norfolk line still exist:confused:

Richard
Hi Tbear.
Yes through the CC they are Norfolkline but in reality they are DFDS
Just a couple of weeks ago I amended my booking!
A great deal:cool:

Hi *****

"Via the CC". Now I understand:D The DFDS wanted a lot more

You have a bigger van than me and you got it for half the dosh so a great deal for you but I would have to join and do a few extra miles so about the same for me unfortunately. A good tip for others in the CC.

I got my outward ticket with them last September, Dover Calais £28 only, but they couldn't give me a price for return ticket 6 months ahead at the time.

The prices across the English channel seem quite reasonable, compared to prices across the Irish sea, Holyhead/Dublin !!! WHY? (£300+)
