Hi folks, can anyone sort out my 'van screen washers, they've died and the MoT is due mid Jan.

Did you put some of the stuff in header bottle to stop the pump/lines freezing, look at fuse or thump the pump, if that fails they are cheap to replace.

Thanks for getting back to me, unfortunately they packed in just before the Hollingworth foray and the bottle/pump assy is on my bench so protected from the elephants

Can you hear the pump running when turned on , unplug the pipe from the jet's turn on washer check water from pipe ,
Possible causes washer jet's blocked pump blocked with sediment . pump gone ,faulty can you get the pump to run on the bench ? electrical connection to pump rusty , advise take it to reputable garage they may find the fault quickly and may be a simple fix , you could phaffing for ages , too cold for phaffing but not to cold for elephants

A clue to which vehicle might help.
Replaced the pump on our X250 some years back, IIRC water had got in the motor, also IIRC was a bit fiddley but simple fix.

If it is a fuse blown just switch one of the other fuses into the wipers slot to test it, so that problem is eliminated. Then you can temporarily use one of the other fuses. There will be fuses for van functions that you never use.

Got a local vehicle electricalist doing the job on Monday, it seemed too small a job for us to pop over to the chap who sorted out the fridge electrics, but we'll see.
But thanks folks for your suggestions
Peter
