Hi were off for a four week tour of Scotland and have downloaded the wild camping sites onto my sat nav. we intend to use the wild camp sites mainly, and as we will be
doing this form of camping for the first time are quite excited about it.If anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated Tony F

Make sure you arrive before it's getting dark, and allow time to pick another spot if your first choice is unsuitable ...

Have fun :)

Feed back would be good

Hi, hope your tour goes well, we are doing a week in May so any feedback from your trip would be good. last year we did it on a motorbike and used B&B, make sure you go up to ullerpool as its a lovely place and just up from there is this place which looked good (OR Loch Cul Dromannan (Highland)) RV

Are you going to do any of the Islands? Some great wild spots on them. My favourite is Aaron but they all have their different appeal.

....and you wont keep driving past them by mistake :mad1:

you may laugh (some of you), but with the dark and discreet entrances, queue of traffic behind and no place to turn round on the wee roads ..... bloomin' nuisance!

:have fun:

I've just got back from a week in Scotland, if you are around Aviemore at all, there is a camping spot on the main road into Aviemore next door to the Youth Hostel, I think it is part of the entrance to the old ski resort. While I was there I met 2 motorhomers who had been there for a week with no problems, it is on the outskirts of the village so not too many people walking by.

Also, if you need to resort to a campsite, there is a very nice site on the Rothiemurchus estate about a mile and a half out of Aviemore almost opposite the Coylumbridge Hilton Hotel. They have set aside 8 pitches at the back of the site for motorhomes who do not require electricity hook up and you will be charged the same as a tent. (cost me £8 per night) and you get use of the excellent Toilet/Shower facilities.

Have a great time

Rob

I have also just got back from a trip to Scotland. The POIs were invaluable and I set up my sat nav to alert me when a 'site' was on my route which proved very useful. I would recommend the site CR Skelbo(Highland) - we stayed two nights watching the 50 or so seals!
Are you going over the west too? If so I have some good places there too :)

Have fun!

Andy

Thanks for the testimonial :)

I'm glad you found the POI's useful.

Regards

Chris
