Scotland Next week Hurah!!!

Heading up to the mountains next week doing west coast up to my usual skye and back again stopping more this time for walks and relaxation oh yeh and due to the increasing price of fuel....... infact the way its going will probably just get over the border and have to turn back ha ha anyway if i need to know anything useful about what is happening out there grateful for any news advise etc doing devon to scotland also anything interesting you feel we should fit in to visit, we have been many times but nice to know if things worth heading too thanks.

I'm also heading up to Scotland from Monday for 2-3 weeks. I've calculated I'll be doing just over 2K miles. My food, occasional camp site (for showers) and general expenses will be £160. The petrol cost will be about ... £480

Fun up here today..can barely see the loch half a mile away.
Just getting organised for a May excursion to North Uist - South Uist - Oban - Barra and so to Harris & Skye.
Calmac are getting VERY strict on vehicle length and measuring far more often. If you have a bike carrier or anything projecting at the back it might be best to measure length yourself before setting out...I've just had one argument over the length of mine where the manufacturer's stated length in their publicity was said to be inaccurate...the debate was over 3cms. and I was already in the over 5mtr. group.

Thanks for bringing this up. My T4 is 5.06m long according to the handbook - going to Barra in july - if they're brandishing tape measures in Oban I'll be sure to choose the 5.1m - 5.5m option after measuring the van myself first of course - extra £50 for 6cm!!

Doing west coast from thu we in the left hand drive Benimar with ..wait for it ... Wild Camping T shirts sad i know and the guys said they only wearing theirs when the had one or more too many !!!!!! Enjoy yourselves too "slange"
