Wonder how long 90 trowels will last? And these are for 100 laybys so you do the maths. I suppose its a step in the right direction, providing the needy step in the right direction and if they dont use the trowel correctly then hope other visiting people step in the other direction

They have had these for a few years in the Trossachs drive through forest parks - good idea.

nc500 souvenirs probably. pickaxe and shovel reqd on some of these hillsides😏

I was trying to work how it is going to work.

Trust people to use the trowel and then replace it. Hopefully in pristine condition.
Fix trowel to the end of a 10 foot chain to stop it being purloined - restricts digging area.
A deposit ( sorry ) system.
Do ladies take take precedence over men if two families arrive together ?

In theory a great idea in practice well mmmm and in the days of "Coronavirus' who would want to touch the trowel after some other oik has their faeces contaminated hands all over it? I for one wouldnt would you?

Well our unit has a toilet and a spare cassette, but I always carry a folding shovel (comes in handy in the winter), surprised that most "camper vans don't carry one. And yes i would not use a a shared roadside trowel😷🤒🤕🤧
