Hi to all,
We need somewhere to stay in Scarborough this weekend, any recomendations?
All the cl's are miles away from the centre of Scarborough. An old mate of mine
is celebrating his 50th birthday there so we dont want to be too far away. Also,
I intend to get ratarsed ..so staying in a public car park is a no - no.
What Scarborough needs is an aire or something. Is there any wonder folk p#ss
off to the continent ( & take there folding beer vouchers with them.) for the winter?
I'm pretty sure that an Aire at Scarborough could make money for the council. It's
not like motorhome owners are going to take money away from the B&B's or Hotels..
They are just going to stay away.
While I'm on the subject, we have just got back from touring Wales. Same there,
hardly anywhere to stay at this time of year. We stayed at a lovely site at Manorbier
then a massive gap until we got to the site at Barmouth.

This nearly turned into a rant,

Hi dogseal.
lots of info on scarbourgh if you look in the right place on the site.
we spend a lot of time there, together with old arthur and lots of others there is no probs parking at scarbourgh along marine drive we will be there this weekend at the water pumping station on the north prom which is only about 5 mins walk to the center of town but if you like you could do the sea life centre but if your going to get pi-sed in town then its a long walk back
so look for us at the pumping station and give us a knock
regards Keith

Free

Its free now on Marine Drive and the Mere is ok the moment.

If you’re looking for a caravan park DON’T go to Jacobs Mount. They are just Rob Dogs and the site isn’t all that nice either VERY muddy. Not geared up for motor homes or campers as the ground is so boggy. No money back if you leave early. Pete

as said nothing wrong with staying on the marine drive or the sealife center ,they used to be our overnight stop when we used to go to scarborough never any bother at all .whare abouts in wales did you tour ,down here in south wales there are loads of places to stay for a night or even longer along the gower coast, and as far as cardiff on the coast then there is the brecons literaly thousands of places to wild camp .we spent nearly 18 months down here in the van and never used a camp site once ...ps its not parking up all night after a skin full thats ok ,but please be aware you will still be well over the limit next morning and more than likeley into the afternoon just a thought

Foxhound Inn.

Hi all.
Stayed at the pub stopover at Flixton on thursday night, no problems, I can reccomend it.
Due to the bad weather, by the time we got there the pub was shut.
I phoned the pub up first before we set off & the guy I spoke to ( Ben ) confirmed it was
OK for us to stop. Next time I go there we'le get there earlier and have a few in the bar.
