satellite problems

hi all
I have a easy find satellite dish on a tripod witch is connected via a flat cable under the window. on my last trip while watching TV the signal disappeared new to be found again. The dish had not moved and all the connections were good. I have since checked the receiver and it is working fine any ideas please could it be the LNB or the flat cable.

Hi Rob, I had the same problem at home. I expect it works the same way as in your van. 4 days ago I lost my signal and a friend fixed it for me by replacing a new LNB. I am only hazzarding a guess.

we never had any more problems after we bought a good quality scart lead, totally different

We had problems with our self searching dish when in France earlier this year. It was OK for the first 1-2 weeks then simply stopped working! we checked wiring and all the more likely physical reasons for the sudden failure. Hubby spent hours trying to make it work and hours more when we got back trying to find out why. It was all to do with a change in some of the channels numbers. Once he had reprogrammed them in it worked.
