satellite card

I have a staellite outfit which i bought couiple of years ago but have only used once-when friend set it up for me- only got the news programmes
place it bought it took %5 off me (twice) and never sent the card-I was in France so let his theft go. He claimed to have sent it.
Ok so what do i need to get free sat or whatever in France? Help please as need to get before I return.
(can probably get something on ordinary tv without satellite on cliffs over Boulogne- I've seen uk vans in harbour at sea level in Boulogne getting uk tv but would freeview work in same circumstances?

Hi defitzi,
I use a Digital satelite box from Maplins 12v/240v (no card needed),at around £40ish if I remember. It works well all over Europe with a decent size dish. Once programmed it will give you the English channels, also radio channels.
