I have bought a second hand Tom Tom 730 Sat Nav from ebay for £74.
Hardly used apparantly, but thought the idea of using the voice commands could be quite useful.
Has anyone else got one of these?
Are they any good?

Suppose it's a bit late if they are crap..... hey ho!

730 go

Hi beemer, battery life is c--p when not plug in to 12v or on docking station, maps are expensive to update and you'll be surprised what comes up when us yorkies gi it a verbal - tha nows wor a mean !! but have just had a month in Belgium and France and did'nt fail me when keying places names/POI's in and the screen is clear and instruction good, hope its ok for you

regards Mick

Hi Dave - no problem with POIs, just follow instructions on the downloads by canalsman and www.campingcars-info is also a good one for aires throughout europe which can be put on your tomtom

Sorted!

I am still not sure how it happened, but I have now got the latest POIs on my Tom Tom:dance:
Tried to follow the instructions, but things just didn't seem to be going as instructions indicated, but still ended up with them all on my Sat nav.....hurrah!
Can see at a glance now where they are... so convenient, whereas before (pre Tom Tom) I would navigate to a 'Wild' POI using my cheap sat nav (without POIs) and find the location not suitable (size of vehicle usually) and have to find another location without the help of a POI.
Now, I can see our next nearest location marked up on the Tom Tom.

I have just recently got the Tom Tom (second hand) 730, off ebay, but, according to the instructions, it should have 'Voice Address Input'.
However, this one has not got the icon on the screen. Do you know if I am able to download it back on?

You have bought a great device and paid about the right money for it. I've had lots of different models and still like this one best of all.

It is great for doing updates, let me know if you need any done. Battery life varies according to how it has been treated. Can be replaced but moderately difficult to do if you are unfamiliar with electronics.
