Sat Nav Advice please

I would like to buy a Sat Nav as cheaply as possible and I don't really know anything about them. One that I could use with the files available from here if I was to become a full member. I only travel in the UK. I was looking at one for 50 quid on the tesco website and then I wondered about second hand ones on eBay. Can anyone suggest any particular models or any current eBay listings that look suitable? Remember my main criteria is CHEAP as long as it is actually effective too! Thank you :) .

Hi Have a look on the For sale and wanted section.Fairytooth sells secondhand Tom Toms.Hope this helps.Regards Helmit

People have their favourite Sat Nav so will recommend that one, mine is Tom Tom so easy to use and you can add to it all sorts of Points of Interest etc, they are getting cheaper all the time and Fairy Tooth on here will probably sell you one at a bargain price loaded with what ever you want I would guess.I use Tom Tom all over Europe and it is great.

hi
contact fairytooth he's the man who can!!!

I just got one from him and i'm well pleased with it.

If you are thinking about upgrading your mobile phone, consider an Android phone which has sat nav using Google maps - saves carrying and having to charge another gadget. Or if you are an Apple fan, then an Iphone or Ipad (although I don't know anything about Iphones). The Android sat nav and google maps has served me well and is sufficient for my needs although I never rely totally on sat nav and always check routes on an old-fashioned paper map.

It took me a while to suss it all out but now I love my Android phone.

Best to find a teenager to set it all up and to give you a few lessons on how to use it and what you can do it it...;)

I've just bought an unconverted Tranny for wild camping and have been advised to join a Tranny forum for advice etc - can you recommend one, there seems to be a few.

p.s. my son puts me to shame with all this techno stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Garmin Nuvi Widescreen! If I can download free map updates and add W/C sites and Caravan Club sites ANYONE can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are on a budget buy a secondhand square Garmin or Tomtom, but NOT a cheapo new model such as early Mio and others as you can't update them!
