Sample solar panels for sale

I might get told off for this post... but we will see..

The company I work for just imported 10 sample panels from China.
They are 70W, 90W & 120W

It has been done a a bit of an exercise to see how the whole process would work, quality etc..

I must say that the panels look the business, I'm very impressed.

But now we need to move them on... I guess they will be looking to bring in a larger shipment over the next few months.

They want:
£140 for the 70W
£180 for the 90W
£240 for the 120W

Because of the small shipment size that what they paid (give or take a pound) door to door!

PM me if you are interested, I'll take some photos tomorrow, I'm going to the Lincoln Show if that helps.

I hope this doesn't get deleted, it's just a genuine offer from a member - no commercial angle - honest.

Have you got dimensions and do they recommend a regulator for use with these panels, or will a standard solar panel one do?

Any fixing kits available, or do they come with the panels?

(I'm in North Herts so could collect)

Hi Do you have data sheet for these panels or if not cell efficency or module efficency? are these mono crystaline or poly crystaline?

Many thanks Mothman,

ps would you have a price for all of them?? ie bulk cheers,,

120W = 674x1482x35 (WxLxD) 13Kgs, 6.98Amp, 17.2V... Open circuit voltage (Voc):21.3V, Short circuit current(Isc):7.92A,
90W = 539x1209x35 (WxLxD) 9.2Kgs, 4.94Amp, 18.2V... Open circuit voltage (Voc):22.1V, Short circuit current(Isc):5.35A,
70w = 210x1000x25 (WxLxD) 6.8Kgs, 3.88Amp, 17.4V... Open circuit voltage (Voc):21.6V, Short circuit current(Isc):4.15A,

They are all:
Mono-Crystalline Cells.
Operating temperature: -40 to+85℃
Max system voltage: 1000V

The manufacturer says: These are top-quality solar cells and material (TPT, EVA, tempered glass, silicon adhesive, anodized aluminium frame) to keep our products most competitive in world market. Also, our solar panels with TUV(IEC61215&IEC61730), CEC, CE and RoHs certificates.

It's the usual story: guarantee at least 90% after 10yrs, at least 80% after 25yrs.

I believe, as with all panels that a regulator is needed, so as not to 'cook' your batteries.

These are just the panels complete with cables, no extras.

I think they look the business & I'll be fitting a pair.

I've taken a picture of the 70W Panel, but they all look the same.

cant see a problem with the panels . nice shipping crates as well.
use aluminium angle for fixing brackets

Firefox, great to meet you last eve, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed with the panel.

Now you've got a good excuse to post loads of questions etc..

Here are the 2 links for the regulator that I was talking to you about, it's the same item just at amazingly different prices..
Solar Panel Charger Controller Regulator 10A 12V/24V CG | eBay

Solar Regulator - 10 Amp - 12 Volt - Solar Controller | eBay

Another point, the reason I used 'L' section rather than 'C' section was so that I can unscrew the panel from the 'L' bracket if required, eg. for cleaning etc, I couldn't figure out how to do that with a 'C' section, I thought that once the 'C' was screwed into place on the bottom of the panel frame, then Silkaflex-ed onto the roof, I would not be able to (easily) lift the panel for any reason.

Good Luck...

Thanks for the links :)

Yes I was just thinking the same about the C - section. They put the holes on the bottom rails, but it would be better drilling new ones in the side rail.

Regarding the regulator, how can they sell that for E1.68 !? It's about £1.50! Do you think it is legit?

I'm thinking of getting this:

Dual 16A Solar Charge Regulator : Charge Regulators : Maplin

I'm not trusting the £1.50 box and supplier at the moment! At least with Maplins I can buy off the shelf and it is UK based.

What do you think? The Maplin one goes up to 2 x 8A which should be ample for the 5 amp panel. Input voltage 15-22V which should be fine. I'll probably put couple of 10A fuses in line.

Postage

They are making up their money by charging 9.99 postage (no commission charged on delivery charge)

They've got 3 in stock at Stevenage Maplins... I think that's my plan!

I hate ebay; it appears cheap initially, but you get ripped off for pay pal, postage, delivery, import taxes, duff goods, and scam sellers. Or the item doesn't arrive for weeks. One time I ordered something from the States and it ended up in some Parcel delivery place in Welwyn. I had to drive 2x10 miles to collect it and pay about £15.00 rip off charges on an item worth £20.00! Once bitten...

For the same reason that I sold you the panel & you brought from me, it's great to deal with a human in the UK. Try to buy local & keep Britain great :blah:
