I have recently observed a minute (pin prick size with 5mm dia. stain round it) rust spot on one of my cab doors, Does anyone have a reliable and easy cure for such a thing.

I've used Jenolite before now to get rid of rust.

That wasn't a painted area though but it did work well. It may be worth a look at some of their products.

I have used a rust buster ( sorry can't remember the trade name) on small spots. It hardens the rust to metal. You could then sand and spot paint.

You will have to grind the paint back, rust treat and best to paint with a zink rich primer before repainting, have you removed the inner trim panel to see if it started from inside or was it a stone chip, has the inside of all panels been waxol treated or other rust profer, same with all box sections.

Thanks fellows, much the answers I was expecting but not hoping for. I now remember that I had similar on the bonnet several years ago and I put a tiny blob of silicone mastic over it which is still there and no further trouble but not as neat as I would like. I might try a better version of that or maybe a small punched disc of self adhesive vinyl over a minute spot of Jenolite, I will see how it goes. Must be easy and quick or it will not get done.
