I`ve bought some 19mm WP 2MPa - SAE J30 R6 hose to replace a metal pipe that runs from the header tank on the cooling system in the motorhome.

The metal pipe that has been repaired several times before has started to rust again  that it`s replacing has a gentle 90 degree bend on one end so it easily connected to the rubber hose behind the engine.

I`ve phoned Peugeot and the pipe has been discontinued.

I`m leaving the metal pipe in place because there are numerous other pipes and cables on brackets that fixes to it and will just run the new rubber pipe along it`s length and cable tie it to it to keep it neat and in place.

Being 19mm it`s pretty stiff so, is there a way to put a permanent bend in the new rubber hose so as to take the strain off the end that has the 90 degree bend in it ?

Cant you do it with copper pipe then use a soldered straight connection to get the swaged end which will hold a hose when fixed in place with a hose clip or use a copper bend to get the bend in the hose.

This could help

There are in plastic plumbing formers to take the pipe around bends. Think of washing machine waste water hose which goes in a plastic bracket.

Or could a plumber put a bend in some copper pipe that could form a bend ?

Dont use copper because there is alloy in the engine which will deplete, remember the galvanic table.
but you could use larger copper bent to old shape and run the new plastic tube inside it. (y)

If you are anywhere near Manchester I can sort you out with a length of 5/8 soft drawn refrigeration pipe (soft drawn is fairly eastly to bend... At least it work hardens) in 5/8 (just about 19mm) I can even swage the end too.
