Just wondered if anyone has recommendations for a motorhome route map app for I phone. Preferably one that can be used without using data up. Read about an add for ‘copilot caravan Europe’. It sounded good but when I clicked on it, the reviews weren’t good.

Maps.me

I have used MAPS.ME , once downloaded can be used without an internet connection.
I also use it for walking and cycling. I find the bike routes often take you on busy roads so follow the walking route, this sometimes takes you on tracks that my small wheeled bike can't manage so I have to get of and push but that's all part of the fun of exploring.
( I load any maps I might want at home on my laptop and then just the area I am in on my phone to save memory. )

Maps.me works for us most of the time. Sometimes a bit slow on the searching business.

Cheers

I will try that, I have that one on my phone with the poi’s on. Hadn’t realised it would do route planning as well.😂.

You can search by Category, e.g. Shop then Aldi etc, very useful. You can even find laundry.

Can’t believe what I’ve been missing. Didn’t realise it was that useful.

I've got maps.me and Osmand+,both are very good and are used offline. They are big files though so you will need plenty of internal phone memory or an extSD Card.

Another one for MAPS.ME. POI's load in as well. I've got 12Gb of MAPS on my phone should I ever wish to overland to Bhutan ( don't ask, I just like maps). Used last at New year in Paris in "walking" mode.

Chrz Mul.

What about the ads?

So I've searched maps.me for Android and it says "Contains Ads" how bad are they? I usually avoid stuff that contains ads even if it means paying for a "Pro" version.

Can't say I've ever noticed any. If they're there ... non intrusive. Never been offered PPI or a Thai bride. I've just opened it and none popped up.

The maps themselves contain some sponsored commercial locations frequently with website links. These are the advertisements that are referenced.

If that's the case I might just give it a try, thanks for the info

Tried maps.me but you have to keep maps upto date. I have Co-Pilot running on IPad, Samsung Android and Blaupunkt. I also use IGO Primo.

If you don't mind getting into the file system and having a go with son different apps try GPS Power Forum: tech support and help desk

Loads of info about all the different versions that are available.
