We have stayed at Rothervalley campsite (Sheffield/Rotherham) for two different weekends, for two different reasons.
The first was because our son was learning to windsurf, and the second cos my wife was learning to waterski using a cable system.
Camping costs £5 a head for WC, showers, sinks and water, parking on grass next to a large lake.

Entrance to Rothervalley Countrypark costs £3.50 for the day, and is ideal if you want to waterski, cycle, hire canoes, windsurfers, peddle boats and row boats. You can even take your wetbike there on another lake.

The waterskiing instruction is good, and they are very friendly people.
I was surprised at the lack of gut wrenching laughter when people fall over.... I seemed very much in the minority on that one!!!
I suppose it is because every one has 'been there and done that'. Everybody is keen to give good advice about technique.
We will probably be going again....... I suppose I will have to learn now :(
