On a new van our roof vent blinds are not free-running and a bit of a struggle. One of them has got very bad in the last couple of days - heat maybe?

Would something like silicon spray help to make these better, or is it a string problem?

Had the same problem, and used a silicon spray to good effect, except for the one over the bed (the one most difficult to reach over the island bed!)
I discovered that the blind handle caught on the frame when fully open, and scraped off the places where it caught at each end. Result!

Yes, silicone spray is ideal.

My husband used polish to clean the runner and it's running freely and no horrible squeals now.
