Roof up or not?

We have a VW T5 camper and we would like to try and wildcamp occasionally. I would not feel comfortable sleeping with the pop-up roof up - am I being over anxious? I suppose we need to use our own common sense but it would be nice to get some advice from the voices of experience. Many thanks.

I would consider the birdsong which starts about 3 am in Summer.

If noise is not a problem then I think it should be fine. I have had coachbuilts but used to leave the windows open so far as it can be hot and stuffy on a warm night.

I also regularly leave the cab windows cracked open as well, to reduce condensation in the cab area.
