Right! so... as much as I do enjoy reading your posts... I just cant help wondering where you are when your posting and what your doing. Are you at home, stuck in a stuffy office or out wilding in your campervan?

Myself... Currently I'm waiting in Sainsburys car park, in campervan, waiting for wife to do the shopping. We are away down on the south coast for a couple of weeks between hospital appointments that I have at Cambridge... I've just had a cochlear implant and due to go back next Friday 22nd for the processor switch on. The weather down here has been great, not many holiday makers about and only a very few other motorhomes. Newhaven is where we are at the moment and will be travelling back to Brighton for the weekend as there is a very good Indian buffet for £3.50 for as much as you can eat.

Life cant get much better while campervanning eh?

Sounds fun Campervanman, I'm in place called Eynsham Oxon at my workshop making pelmets and headboards, very sunny here to. good luck with the processor switch on.
Have fun and a safe journey.

:drive:

ShAme hope you'r OK soon. I couldn't manage without a sex life.:lol-053::lol-053::lol-053:

Realy though. I had to return home this week for some radium treatment at Addenbrookes. Lucky I live only a few miles from there. Took the opportunity to get the van into the garage and have the side straitened out (bump in a marrow lane on Anglesy) and an over due service.
Best O' luck mate

I am at home, have been for a couple of weeks since the Scotland trip. So far, we have been to East Yorkshire, around the Cumbrian coast, our favourite little spot on the Northumberland coast, Arnside, Hexham, North Berwick and the Tyne Valley.

We are off to the Tyne Valley again (Corbridge) in a few days then Beadnell on the Northumberland coast. It is no good having a van just parked on your driveway now is it?

Ah, the joys of early retirement......come on you lot, get back to work. No slacking. :lol-061:

you lucky lot. husband is diabetic and has a foot infection that has to be dressed three times a week. lucky to get a night away at the moment.

ha ha guess what i am sat at home , i woulden want to be out in a van enjoying my self ,i think i would rather be sat here bored to death .it must be terrible for you lot out and about in your boreing motor homes i do feel so sorry for you all :help::goodluck::rolleyes::eek:

COUCHSURFING - What - you have never heard of it?

I am currently at home here in Edinburgh doing the hosting side of something called 'Couchsurfing'.

WHAT IS THAT I hear you cry. I did the first time I heard about it.

How it Works

Go to a website in the states and register
CouchSurfing - Participate in Creating a Better World, One Couch At A Time

You then say "Whoever is visiting xxxxxxxx (substitute you home town) I can offer you x couches or beds (substitute a number) for XX days (substitute the number of days you can cope with).

When I go abroad (mainly Europe) I can ask folk like me for a bed.

Except when I am Europe I have my motorhome so a couch is not required but I can request all or some of the following:

A place to park motorhome (say a drive next to house)
Help with somewhere else to park but not at their home or in emergency location of local aire or campsite.
A tour guide on request from a local person
A good eats/drink locations quide on request from a local person

When folks visit me in Edinburgh they get to live in my motorhome, get a tour guide and good eats/drink quide and local 'friend'.

I call it 'INSTANT LOCAL KNOWLEDGE' which you will not find in the guide books.

September will see me and wife in Europe with the motorhome visiting couchsurfers. Some of them have visited us in Edinburgh already, some have not.

It is a sort of wildcamping with local knowledge on tap.

It is not just Europe it is Wordwide with well over 1 million members.

Cheers
