HI, I'm planning a holiday in Scotland this summer, it will be my first visit, My trip will start and finish in Stranrare as I'm coming from Ireland. I would hope to stay mainly
along the west coast, maybe going up to fort william or a bit further, and nipping in and out of some Islands as well. Any suggestions and tips re. wild camping, sites, ect would be much appreciated... Regards Rock

First of all - Welcome :)

This is a great site that will help with all the questions you're likely to need answered about wild camping.

If you're focusing on wild camping, you should consider becoming a full member. That allows you, amongst other things, to download the wild camping map and POI (for satnav) files. The information includes Google Streetview links for most places so you can take a really good look at potential stopping points.

There are almost 2,500 places listed throughout England, Wales and Scotland.

I've attached a screenshot that shows how many wild camping spots we have listed in the area you're planning to visit. Each green 'W' is a place to stay!

Regards

Chris
