Hi I hope someone can answer my question. Can I fit a rock n rolla seat/bed as the passengers seats or would this be illeal? it would be fitted onto a lwb mk5 ford transit. Would there be problems with it passing the mot any help appreciated thanks

As far as I know you can fit a rock n roll bed to your van but it has to have seat belts if you intend to carry passengers, I got mine for my T4 from Aztec Campers in Swansea :)

pop along to a mot centre and get the right advice from the horses mouth!!!!:)

ps then let us know:)

ANY new seats, or seats in new vehicles that now face forward require seat belts, however 'crew' seats i.e. seats that run sideways not!

And that IS from the horse's mouth!

Does this not depend on which Policeman pulls you up at the end of the day. Plus the insurance company may dispute extra seating arrangements in the back, so would the DLA!

All changes require informing people and most MOT stations don't have a clue beyond accepting the standard of fixing, nor PC Plod!

PC Plod may argue if a passenger is not restrained then they may be traveling dangerously therefore the driver is breaking the Law, untested up until recently!

Just thought, not trying to enter the argument!

I dont see why not as long as you have a way of fitting seat belts :p

Another thing to think about is space at the front of cab for the bed to pull out ;)

It would come under the same ruling as landrovers that have crew seats in the back, plus it would be more dangerous to passengers restrained on crew seat than to have them unrestrained
