Road Atlas for France ans Spain

Hi, I have found the "Michelin motoring atlas France" to be very good. New 2012 edition Soon to be available from Amazon £8.39 with free delivery.

You can pick Michelin road atlas from French and Spanish Hypermarkets - usually cheaper than the UK

hi i use a michelin sometimes , but find Blay Foldex atlas routier far better for france.part of kummerly+frey group.
for spain it as to be the cepsa mapamax.
if you try these you may never want a michelin again.
the michelin is good for racing through but not as detailed .

I know Michelin maps are popular, BUT I preferred the AA one. We took a new copy of each with us to France in September. The AA map makes it much easier to see the autoroutes that are free. Michelin it's difficult to distinguish easily - at a glance.

Having just returned from three and a half weeks touring in France I felt compelled to comment on this excellent atlas. Before our trip I purchased both the AA Atlas and the Michelin France 2011 Atlas.
The AA Atlas had a number of advantages over the Michelin one, in my opinion:
1. It is easy to see at a glance which of the motorways are chargeable and which are free (it is much more difficult to distinguish on the Michelin version).
2. The AA Atlas has just the right amount of information; is much lighter weight and easier to handle (Michelin was heavy, floppy and unwieldy - awkward to handle).
3. The Michelin Atlas contained a lot of superfluous information that was of no value to us (pages of fine dinning and motorway filling station details, which are of course the most expensive!).
4. The AA Atlas costs less.
