just read in my sea angler magazine that ofcom wants to increase the charge to the rnli for using thier vhf radios from 48 000 to 248000 pounds , i cant believe they have to pay anything at all let alone this stupid increase .as ive said before it seems the loonys are in charge of the asylum:mad:

About time the goverment started supporting the R.N.L.I. financially instead of relying on donations from the general public WE NEED THEM!

R n l i

this goverment think more about spending good money on there second homes and all the other expense they fraudulantly claim for them selves they should give it to R N L I instead .:mad:

The Governmant are trying to push for legislation to sell Licences for many bands in the radio spectrum, this also includes VHF radio for air traffic control, Any flights into that enter the UK (or even just overfly the UK) will need to purchase these licences.
To charge the RNLI is diabolical.:eek:

one thing to say THEY HUNG DICK TURPIN the government we have are corrupt to the core .but so are all the other party's so we have no chance to prosper or even have a chance to keep our heads above water. but look at it this way with a bit of luck next election hopefully we will have a conservative government in charge then the people may do as they did when maggie was in charge (god rest her soul ) remember the poll tax..... opps got that wrong she aint dead yet, still nothing in this world is perfect. getting back to today though, the people in this country will accept gas taring from the labour government so deserve all they get, sorry to bleat on but lets have a conservative one in we may kick up a fuss then for being downtrodden and robbed blind rant over :eek::eek::eek:

If Ofcom members ever need the RNLI, they should leave the beggers in the water, the ungrateful sods.

The last thing the RNLI need is the government to get involved they would c*ck it up for sure. You can imagine the risk assesment he crew would have to fill out before they were aloud to save anybody. As a charity should they be paying these charges anyway?

As an ex lifeboat crew (shoreham harbour - sussex) i would dread government official funding for the RNLI. because then they would have a deciding say in what equipment and boats were used.

the lads (and ladies) who crew the boats are all unpaid volunteers. they put their lives on the line on a regular basis and they derserve to have the very best equipment and lifeboats available. NOT something cheap and shoddy supplied by the lowest bidder with an entertainment expence account!:mad:

as reguards the vhf licence you can sign a petion to downing st here;

I couldn't believe it, for I thought maritime frequencies where free (at least they are here on the continent). I know for my friend is a yachtsman and I knew him using marinophone for weatherforcasts, traffic ...no pay at all.:eek:
But about the same general thing is happening over here: unpaid volunteers who did wonderfull jobs are no longer esteemed, experience has no value anymore.
The money goes to those who bark with the hounds, live on clouds, shave bald sheep: nitwits.
Or maybe the RLNI is regarded old fashion: a remembrance of the times of iron men on wooden ships (nowadays the best you can gat is a wooden man on an iron ship-or a far-easter without salt in his blood :D)
Old values no longer count :eek:

This whole thing is typical of the way the UK is going. It confuses me that the gov proudly boast that we have a democracy based on the Greek system! but they forgot to include the ostracise part of it. Once a year the public voted for the polatition they felt was the most corrupt, the winner had all his money taken of him and was then exiled for ten years.
The only problem for us would be deciding which is the most corrupt:rolleyes:

many thanks to all of you who have supported the lifeboats, financially through donations, or by signing the petition. you can find out more of what the RNLI does by clicking on the link below;

not going to comment on the government line on this except to say they are all as bad as each other!
