We've used a few places on this trip and I'm grateful for them bit why when they are listed do some of the listers not seem to write anything as a review to help others.

I won't get into why anyone would list the roadside outside someone's house or a narrow layby on a bend opposite a row of houses but I'd not even consider those as remotely viable.

Maybe we should draw up some sort of criteria on what a sensible POI might be and how it can be described when listing to help our wilding community.

A large number of the POIs probably predate the Location App and ability to review. Others may have been added without visiting. For example, I have added some aires in France on the basis of information obtained elsewhere. If I subsequently visit, I will review.

I now avoid wild camping in the u.k unless I have to due to the hassles you can get. Abroad it is so much better. Without wanting to upset the applecart are most of these places not repeated on park for a night and other such apps. Times have changed since I was on here last ,about 10 years ago, in my full timing experience especially abroad I learnt that it was best parking in different locations at weekends compared to during the week. I would look instead for quiet areas for the night on wide roads generally in cul de sac roads or peaceful areas where kids and the rowdy don't go. Perhaps a section on the app for these places would be good. For me it's not necessary to suffer a nuisance for a great view in the morning 😉 Just a thought 👍

I had that historical thought in the middle of the night

On the subject of reviews, does it take a while for them to appear on the app? The reason I ask is that I reviewed a place last month, but the review doesn't appear. I'm now not sure whether I made a mess of submitting it or whether it will eventually appear

No they appear right away, but you have to fill in the title box and hit the submit button.
