The camera was $20. I have one just like that. It was cheaper than that, bought direct from China, but it is rubbish. The image quality really isn't good and it is useless after dark.
The transmitter was $38 - compared to maybe £2 for a cable.
Then the screen he is using is an iPad. Well, any solution that uses an iPad is not cheap, and it is far too valuable a thing to leave on your dashboard when you park, so you need to stash it away each time you park and set it up each time you drive.
No, Buy a screen (about £15 to £20), a cable (£2) and a decent quality camera (around £25 or so for a CMOS one, or £36 to £50 for a CCD one - much better).
Better, less to go wrong, and much more convenient.
