Hi,
Being an absolute thicko when it comes to leccy, I would like to know how (if it's possible) to replace fluorescent tubes somehow with LEDs. Do they come in a strip the same size as the tubes? & don't the fittings have a starter to kick off the gas filled tubes? Has anyone out there any experience of replacing these, I would be thankful for any advice.

Aten lighting (and others) aten lighting do 5m strips of leds which you can cut to length. These are simply connected to the 12v supply instead of the fluorescent assembly.

I was at Discover only last week, they had diect replacement tubes using the original fittings, you just have to remove the internal electrics and wire the the ends direct to the supplying wires.
