i had a disagreement with a tree in a campsite in France this summer, and my rear kitchen window is now taped up in several places with heavy duty black tape... i tried my the south wales Blaenavon camper spares business who have thousands of windows available and who have helped me in the past... but they were unable to assist on this occassion. The window does have the blue letters/numbers on it = so possibly it is the same size as a different van to mine ...

does anyone know a breaker who is likely to have a 1993 mitsubishi delica second hand window.... or ... does anyone now of window manufacturer who can produce a copy at a sensible price...

i am currently in Somerset but can travel within reason-

many thanks

They do an excellent service on double glazed units

i need to take the window out ... ship it to them .... wait at least 2 weeks .... (they dont refit the window) .... they ship it back... i then find another fitter .... sighs......

think i will just put up with a taped up window for a while - at least till i have moved house and have a few weeks of free internet research time available....

but i had new carpet fitted today and i had the van cleaned today - so it now looks lovely after its 4 month holiday this summer. Whilst sat in the van being subjected to high pressure water hosing-down the damaged kitchen window didn't leak... so think i will just leave it for a while.

Andyjanet has kindly insulated my overhead cab bed area, and the rest of my cupboards, and with new carpet fitted today and the remaining internal walls to be carpeted in a couple of weeks, i hope to be a great deal warmer for the winter's jaunts....

Alf your lady on the phone was very nice indeed and she suggested i look for details which are etched into the window glass itself and email them to her.... guess i will leave this until my move is over...

I had an argument with a wall a few years ago, coincidentally in France also, and needed a new window. I used these folk, they were very helpful, don’t know if they can help you -

Thanks Pat ... i called them and they sound really helpful. i will probably drive up there with the van after i move and then they can take all the measurements they need.

Just so you have an idea of price, mine was around £350 but it was the largest window In the van so yours should be cheaper than that.

If this is a standard Delica window (as opposed to one supplied by a converter), you could try your local Mitsi main dealer. Mitsubishi are one of the few who fully support grey imports. Failing that, you could ask on the Delica Owner's Club forum (Mitsubishi Delica Owners Club). HTH, Geoff

Hi Geoff..... thanks.... i did look on the mdocuk.co.uk which i use from time to time - but could find nothing about windows. My van is not the standard delica - theres a piccie of it on my profile.

Doh - i hadn't thought that the local main dealer in trowbridge might be able to get one - that's good thinking. If they can it would be much simpler than having one made.....

When i emailed mitsubishi in Japan earlier this year they were monumentally quick and efficient.....

love this forum..... so much lateral thinking......
