I swapped over one of our seemingly ever lasting gas bottles on Saturday. I think it has lasted at least 3 or even 3.5 years! For a 13kg Calor gas I was charged £28 which didn't seem too bad to me.

I know a number of you have refillable or on board tanks but for those who don't, have you replaced a cylinder recently and if so, how I'd be interested in hearing about how much you were charged.

Prices seem to be between £35-£45 at the moment so sounds like you got a bargain.

I thought that I used to pay more but as it was so long ago I couldn't remember :D

I have a refillable 20kg tank which was showing empty on the gauge. I had it fitted and filled about 3 years ago and haven't filled it since.

A few weeks back I went to get it filled and he only managed to get 5kg in, obviously the gauge is faulty!

I looked in to getting refillable some time ago but as we use so little I didn't think it was worth the layout for us.

When we go to Spain for 2 months each winter, we use a Spanish Repsol cylinder and back feed it through our BBQ point. Over there the 11kg is around 15-17€, so much cheaper than here. I reckon we get around 2-3 weeks out of one, mainly for water heating and some space heating if it's a bit nippy in the evening or first thing.

I will use more in future as I now have recently installed hot water and heating to run off of the gas.

Pleased with our consumption of 5kg in 3 years though as we do use the hobs and oven quite a lot.

That`s a good price Graham (y) Up here we are paying more than that for a 6kg propane 🤬

I went down the refillable route years back so they have more than paid for themselves now :)

And when I recently inquired about a new bottle they said they were not issuing any new bottles to customers.

Interestingly above post, it is £7 cheaper if you get your 13Kg of Propane NOT in a Patio gas bottle !

Wow looking at those prices I really did get a good deal then (y)
You really did. the last 6Kg bottle I got a price on (last month) from an official Calor Dealer was £4 more than listed above.
