Hi all, I am sure I am being a little obtuse but I am confused by the DVLA! When I was 70 I renewed my licence to retain my C1 and D1 so I can drive our 4T rated motorhome. I have previously made a medical declaration about glaucoma and recieved a licence for 3 years which expires in January. I have had through the post from the DVLA explaining how to fill in the enclosed medical renewal form D1008 saying there is no fee. There are no licence renewal forms ie D2. Does this mean I only have to return the medical forms or do I need to try and obtain D2 and D4 form which dosen't appear to be available from a local post office.
Any advice much appreciated.
Jean

Some post Offices have d2 &4 some don't

"The application packs for D1, D2 and D4 forms are only available from a Post Office that offers DVLA services."

====================
"From age 70, you must renew your driving licence every three years. Our branch teams can’t do this for you. You need to apply to the DVLA directly.

DVLA should send you a D46P form automatically, about three months before your licence runs out. If you don’t have one, you can use a D1 form. They’re available in some Post Office branches."

i’m coming up to 76 so third time round for me the last two times i’ve gone the D4Drivers route although they advice you to print of the D4 form and have a link on the site i find filling one out speeds up the process listing of medications etc they also ask to bring a prescription if your wearing specs im booked in for a fortnights time 🤞🤞🤞

Apparently non near us so have to wait for snail mail from DVLA. Thanks

You can order the form off the government website
Thank you. Need to wait 5 days to 2 weeks. I don't know why they can't be printed like many other forms.

Thanks for the tip about the D4 being online at D4Drivers. We have used Midland Medical Group before as they are quite near to us.

Slightly off topic but SWMBO has to declare her medical conditions every 3 years. The conditions never change so it's always the same forms but, no, DVLA send the wrong ones every single time.

Although the treadmill test is done at the local Nuffield, the DVLA always send the required details through to the local RD&E, and so the nurse at the Nuffield is quite well used to having to get all the forms from further up the road. As in Always has to do it. Which is what happened to my paperwork.

You will need to complete the D2, D4 and the D1008 if you want to keep your C1 entitlement. The DVLA only send the forms you need for a standard renewal (without C1) which you can do online but in your case would also need the D1008 because of glaucoma. You did the D2/D4 at 70 and will need to do it again every 3 years.
