Renault Trafic Autosleeper pump problem

Just bought a Renault autosleeper and am having pumped water supply problem. I fill tank through hose under bonnet and water appears to overspill tank top beneath van. Water pump then works fine for about 20 seconds and then no more water comes up. Pump works OK insofar as I can tell (it is a diaghragm pump, by the way). Any ideas how to solve this one.:rolleyes2:

Does the pump stop after 20 seconds or does it keep pumping but no water coming out of the tap?
What year and model is your Autosleeper?

I believe that the Rapport has a Carver water heater (not 100% sure).
If so, the pump is fed by a hose from the water tank, from the pump, the outlet hose goes to a "T" piece - one side goes to the cold water supply and the other to the water heater.
The pump will fill up the heaters integral tank first before supplying the cold water tap so if the system has been drained, it could take a few minutes of pumping before the system fills.
On the other hand, it could be a blockage between the tank and the pump, a blockage after the pump would (should) switch the pump off as it is pressure switched.

i own the same camper,to be honest i never use the water from the tank because of the age,i just use fresh water from a water carrier.

Hi there. Got it sorted. It was an airlock and I rid myself of it by shoving a hose up the tap and turning off the pump. Then I filled the tank from the front end and ran the tap. It all cleared itself.
