Renault Master Warrenty.

Just had a phone call From Renault regarding the free one year extension to my base vehicle (Master) warranty. having sent them 1, copy of log book 2, copy of purchase reciept, 3, photocopy of inside page of warranty book showing dealer stamp and 4,photocopy of recent utility bill. They have assured me my free warranty extension is in the post. I also enquired if it was correct that I would have to have the two year(first) service on the anniversary of purchase or on the anniversary of Renaults dispatch to the converter I was told it was the anniversary of dispatch to the converter. This is a date I didnt even Know, I do now. Don't you think this is something Dealers should Make clear on day of Purchase, some of these things hang about at dealers for months and if you booked it in a year, or two in Renaults case you would be told you had invalidated your warranty as they only allow 1 months grace.

Hi.
Good news about you getting your extended warrenty, and good information regarding service timings, I suspect this Issue affects more people than is realised as i doubt Renault is the only manufacture that opporates this policy.
If you think about it, this is quite understandable, given that the converters and MH dealers are unlikely to be agents of the manufacturer, when delivered to the converter these vehicles then fall outside any control that the manufacturer has, and unless there is sufficient volume it is impractical to appoint them as agents.
I have no wish to appear rude or in any way hijack your thread, but would it be worth reposting this with a more general title as I feel it would be a point worth checking by anyone buying regardless of make and may be missed by people not looking for Renault information.

Regards Geoff.

Hi

My Master came with 3 years warrenty, does this mean Renault are now giving 4 years?

Warranty

Mine was new in 2005. I wonder if the difference was that mine was converted in the Uk and therefore came with UK warranty.

thanks for the info anyway.

Yep, I think thats it. The offer is for U.K. spec and handed but Euro converted, to bring them in line with U.K. built and converted.
