am in the process of refitting the living in the green goddess, pics to follow very soon! how exciting is that? been using softwood and marine ply, i'm fortunate in the fact that my old Green Goddess goes 6.6 ton FLW, 4.5 ULW, so i did have a lot of options

has anyone had problems staying within the limits, I have been stopped and checked in the past, all was ok, they were more interested in what brew I was putting in the tanks!!!!! "Perfectly legal Mr Ministry of Transport"

i'm going to take her to my local weighbridge when work is finished, fully loaded for a trip, including racebikes, tools ect, interesting to see what the result will be.

Hi,
good luck with the refit.
It would be interesting to find out how many of us weigh in when fully loaded before a big trip. I have weighed in twice, fully loaded and been under, and learned what to pack and what not to.
I always travel with half tank of fuel and water for the trip.
The M6 North before the A580 East Lancs Road, appears a favourite of the Ministry for stopping people, especially on Bank Hol weekends.

Happy Camping :)

I have a contact in VOSA who told me that when they did a check on motorhome weights this year around 80% were overweight, one being 20% above their max weight limit

He said that most were given a warning and were able to get close to their max weight by emptying water and waste tanks.

that is a worrying statistic Andy, I suppose it is easily done as just because you have the space for stuff doesn't mean you should carry it!
