I love Wully's whisky, he serves it by the half pint.![]()
I just get the cheap shite but hey, it's free and it gives you the Glen Cambels!![]()
I like a vintage Port every now and again. I went into the bar at our Marina once (New Years Eve lunchtime) and the landlord said "I've got a lovely bottle of Port you would like Rob, but it's very expensive".
He got the bottle out and bought me a shot it was pure nectar! We woofed it down and I ordered us both another - 11 quid a go for each shot and this was about 20 years ago! But I thought Hey Ho in for a penny and we did the bottle.
It was Wares vintage Port and I now have a bottle at home (amongst others) sitting waiting for a special occasion.
I have a Birthday coming up if anyone on here is struggling with what to get me. I was born in 1966
1966 Warre Vintage Port 1966
Warre Vintage Port 1966. Scoring 86/100 Parker points and from the outstanding 1966 vintage, this wonderful port is a red ruby colour, has a lovely nose and is sweet with perfect weight and flavour.www.vintagewinegifts.co.uk
Whisky goes up in value between 8%—20% year on year but that's only the collectors whisky.. However, a 1930's bottle of Bells would fetch a good price because of it's rarity value - there ain't too many lying around!
I have a fair few collectors whisky and a fair few collectors Ports, Cognacs and Rums. Not got much space in the house now so will have to make a large well insulated cupboard in the garage soon.
Better than money in the bank by a country mile IMHO.
