recent trip around parts of Scotland

first night looked for a place to camp in Montrose but ended up in Ferry Den at the end of the road at water's edge a nice safe bit to camp public toilets and pub which opens on a Wed to Sun . Moved on to Royal Deeside dinner at Balmoral (in the van) then headed up over the Tomintoul Road to Granton on Spey (very impressive road. ) Stayed in the car park there. Next Inverness but a marathon stopped us parking there. Headed up past Beauly, Muir of Ord through Tain to Dornoch parked at a wee car park opposite the Spar Shop beside the student's quarters basically in town where we went for a bar meal.
Next morning we headed up over the Dornoch Firth to Golspie (swim in school pool) then down to a839 to Lairg then up Ledmore junction, down A835 to Ullapool. I have to thank the member who posted a stop at the Royal Hotel ullapool which we used. They encourage vans if you buy a drink or a meal we had both. New tarmac carpark with hook ups if you require them and access to the toilets.
Then we went to Kyles of Lochalsh, crossed the Bridge first left into Kyleakin big car park a number of campers there over night. Tour buses parked a good view of bridge and a good bar meal in local pub. Will go there again.
Sunday Fort William stayed at Lidl good overnight stop spoke to manager no problem for overnight stop.

Good road trip headed home next day.
690miles travelled in total over 6 days weather not great but our small wood stove in van kept us warm and cosy.
